Opportunity Program
The Opportunity Program, funded by the U.S. Department of State, is designed to support the application process to U.S. higher education institutions for students who are highly qualified but are unable to cover expenses related to the application process. The Opportunity Program provides funds to talented international students of limited means who are applying to universities in the United States and who are not eligible for (or not funded by other) U.S. Government-sponsored exchange programs.

Education USA

The Volgograd Education Information Center (EIC), opened in 1994, belongs to the State Department's Education USA network of advising centers that strive to provide accurate, comprehensive, current, and unbiased information on educational opportunities in the United States. The Volgograd EIC offers visitors free access to a large reference collection that includes university guides, college handbooks, test preparation materials, and multimedia resources. Students are welcome to use EIC resources and receive individual consultations from trained educational advisors on topics concerning higher education in the United States.
      The Volgograd EIC organizes an annual education fair each autumn. IREX (International Research and Exchanges Board), American Councils for International Education: ACTR/ACCELS, the Fulbright Program, and other organizations represent their programs at the fair, offering participants direct contact with representatives and full information about educational opportunities

America Discovered
The Fulbright Program in Russia invites applications from our Russian alumni to take part in a conference entitled “Higher Education for Tomorrow’s Professionals: the Role of Universities and Colleges in Meeting Tomorrow’s Employment Needs.” The conference will take place in Moscow on Friday-Saturday, 2-3 April 2010.

 

American Center today is:

  • More than 2000 original editions in the English language on law, business and economics, history and culture of the United States, an extensive multimedia library. There are multi-level English learning textbooks How to learn English, unique reference collection of encyclopedias and dictionaries, multimedia informational resources on the history of the U.S. culture and arts;
  •  EducationUSA Center: individual consultations from trained educational advisors on the topics concerning higher education in the United States (admission to the U.S. colleges and universities, entrance exams, financial aid and etc.) as well as materials to prepare for the entrance exams (such as TOEFL, GMAT, GRE, SAT, LSAT),
  •  Information on competitive exchange programs and scholarships funded by the U.S. Government, as well as grants programs with more than 50 sources of foundations and granting organizations presented;
  • Round tables, seminars, master classes with active participation of the American and Russian specialists in history, political science, journalism, management, ecology, human rights, etc.;
  • English club (discussion with Guest speakers) or film club Movie Nights.
